Saplio (“Saplio,” “we,” “us”) is a family allowance and money-education app. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. Saplio is built to keep your family’s data private to you.
The children you add, their transactions, savings goals, allowance and investment settings, and your app preferences are stored in your iCloud private database (and in a shared CloudKit zone for any co-parent you invite). This data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and iCloud terms. It is not transmitted to Saplio’s developers.
When you use “Report a problem” or “Request a feature,” we receive what you submit: your message, and optionally any steps, contact email, or screenshot you add. To help us investigate, we also attach non-identifying technical diagnostics:
We deliberately do not include your children’s names, transactions, balances, or any other family data in feedback. Feedback is stored in our app’s CloudKit database so we can respond and improve Saplio. To have a submission deleted, email support@saplio.app.
Saplio’s investing feature is an educational simulation — no real money is involved. To show how a chosen market index would have moved, the app requests historical index prices through a relay service. Those requests contain only the index symbol and a date range — no personal or family data is sent.
Premium features are sold through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your payment details. Subscription management and Apple’s handling of that data are governed by Apple.
Saplio is operated by a parent or guardian. Children do not create accounts, sign in, or enter data themselves — a parent enters information about a child (such as a name or emoji and amounts), which is stored in the parent’s own iCloud as described above. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, we show no ads, and we do not share family data with third parties.
Your family data lives in your iCloud; you can delete it in the app or by removing the app’s iCloud data. Feedback you send is kept until we have addressed it or you ask us to delete it (support@saplio.app).
We may update this policy from time to time; we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
